White Space With A Twist: chapter 5 Emma stared at the three standing in front of her.Scared of what two of them might say, she grabbed her pack and started running. She weaved through trees and dodged bushes. She heard whhoever was following her crash into a few bushes and bought her some time. Her legs were screaming and her lungs burned, but she didn't let up. She saw a drop-off and skidded to a stop. She dropped her hands to her knees and breathed deep. Joel caught up to her, panting.
"E-emma, w-what the heck w-was that about?!"
Emma didn't answer him. Instead, she looked out over the forest, trying to organize her thoughts. On the one hand, she loved seeing him again, but on the other hand, her thoughts screamed at her to run again, to get away from him, to go back to Nomega.
She took another deep breath. "Jo
White Space With A Twist: chapter 4 Emma dove into the lake with all her clothes on, save the black shirt and heavy brown boots she traded in for her tennis shoes. "Hey, come on in, the water's great!" Abby didn't move. Her lips moved, but no words came out. Finally, one word slipped out. "Crocodile."
Emma looked behind her and stared swimming as fast as she could. A flat headed croc was swimming behind her. "Hurry, Emma! Swim!"
'What do you think I'm doin'?'
She made it to shore moments before the croc thing clamped it's jaw shut where her leg had been. Grabbing her shirt and boots, she lead Abby at a fast pace back to their camp.
An hour later, they had taken down the camp and were on the move again. They came upon

"Zani, we'er sorry we didn't bring flowers, but we will next time," Abby said. Emma stared at the headstone. It read, "Zani K.; death: suicide." Emma felt a tear run down her cheek.
"Emma?" She jerked into reality. Abby had been watching her. "Hey, don't worry. I won't ever let you down, 'k?" Emma smiled. Abby always made her feel better. She nodded.
"Come on. The trail's this way," She said pointing and brushing tears away. "Right behind ya!"
That night, Emma had her pocket knife out, widling a stick into a bow, and more sticks into arrows. "That food isn't gonna last forever," she had told her brunette twin. "Good thing I paid attentio
White Space With A Twist: chapter 2 "You're what?!" Emma yelled. Joel looked down at his feet. A flash of guilt, embarassement, and suprise at her tone flashed over his features. Emma stood there, dumbfounded, at what he had just told her. When he didn't answer to her outburst, she started talking again, only in a quieter voice.White Space With A Twist: chapter 2 by susanspringguardian
"What do you mean your going to Free City? You don't even know where it is!"
Joel looked up and stared into her eyes. She's seen him this way before, when he asked her out for the first time. "I know."
Emma stared back. She hadn't been expecting him to be so serious. She remembered Zani telling her about Abby and Free City. Zani had given both of them golden heart shaped lockets. She said they were delivered to the academy with them.
Emma sighed. "Look, if this is about proving something to someone, you don't have to do it."
Joel looked at her harder. "It's not like that. Me and Aiden had a dream last night. The same dream. Wolves were taking us to Free City."
